Bruce Sawyer Hutto, 71, of Odessa, Texas died at his home on October 23.
Bruce was born in Big Spring, Texas on January 11, 1952 to Virginia Sawyer Hutto and Thomas Louie Hutto. They were both thrilled to have a son at long last. Bruce graduated from Big Spring High School in 1970, where his favorite sport was basketball. He went on to graduate from Texas A&M University in 1974, his father's (and later his son's) alma mater. Bruce was a seeker who worked for the U.S. Park's Service, was a guide down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon, served on the ski patrol at Snow Bird in Utah, owned a Sporting Goods store for a time in Big Spring; and being from West Texas - worked in and for the oil and gas industry. This list is just a sample of his wide interests.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father Thomas, his mother Virginia (Ginny), his first wife Mary Anderson Hutto [mother of his only son Thomas Will Hutto], and his second wife Joann Freeman Hutto. Bruce is survived by his son Will and daughter-in-law Jennifer Hutto, and daughter Meralie, of El Paso. He is also survived by his sister Tommie Lou Hutto-Blake and brother-in-law Al Blake and his nieces Sawyer (Hutto-Blake) Austin and Allison (Hutto-Blake) Love.
