Bryan Cadra

November 28, 1946 — November 5, 2015

Born in Lubbock, Texas, Dennis Cadra found peace in heaven on November 5, 2015 at the age of 68.

A beloved husband, father, grandpa and brother, he is survived by his caring wife of 47 years, Yvonne Cadra; sons, Stefan (Hillary) Cadra and Daniel Cadra; daughter, Kirsten (Stephen) White; grandchildren, Camille Cadra, Molly Cadra, Kylie White and Samantha White; and brother, Mike (Lynn) Barbian.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Godfrey and Marie Cadra.

While in their late teens, Dennis and Yvonne met at Camp Lone Star in La Grange, Texas. After exchanging letters for several years, they wed on August 24, 1968. Dennis earned his law degree from Texas Tech University in 1972 and was a prosecutor for 29 years, serving as past County & District Attorney for Andrews County and First Assistant District Attorney for Ector County. He dedicated his life to prosecuting criminals and bringing justice for victims. He was particularly passionate about advocating for and defending children who had been abused. He was held in high regard by his colleagues for his knowledge of the law, his ability to cite specific cases and his unwavering ethics. In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed telling detailed stories about his many life experiences, cracking jokes, reading books about historical events, the vastness and mysteries of outer space and political conservatives. He could often be heard "coaching" and "refereeing" Texas Tech games from the comfort of his recliner.
