Callie Wilkinson

Callie Pearl Wilkinson passed away December 28, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born in a doctor's office in Woodville, TX on March 31, 1948 to Theodore Clement and Ina Mary (Ivie) Busselle. She was an only child. Her home was Warren, TX, where she had childhood friendships which are still strong today. After graduation from Warren High School, she attended and graduated from Lon Morris College with an Associate's Degree in Business. She began her medical career at Woodville Hospital, but soon moved to Houston. She worked for Texas Lutheran, Texas Children's and Texas Heart Institute where she worked with doctors like Doctors Seybold, Harburg, and Denton Cooley. While in Houston she met Robert T. (Bob) Wilkinson. They married in New Orleans, La. On November 20, 1973, and began a 44 year adventure. After a transfer to Dallas, they started a family which grew to 3 children. After transfers to San Antonio, and finally Odessa, she attended OC, obtaining an Associate's Degree in Nursing, graduating cum laude, and obtained her certification as an RN from the State of Texas. She worked at Medical Center Hospital, the office of Dr. O.T. Garza, Rolling Plains Hospital, and last 16 years at Odessa Regional Hospital. She only retired when the cancer would not allow her to continue. She earned the respect of doctors and co-workers alike with her intelligence, professionalism, the ability to handle any situation, while showing genuine caring and friendship. With her busy schedule, she still managed to raise three children who revered and adored her and was the most fantastic wife any husband could ever have. Even with her schedule she seldom missed a school or sporting event for her children or grandchildren in Odessa. She was active in family to the last.

Callie is preceded in death by both parents, all her aunts and uncles and many cousins.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert (Bob) T. Wilkinson V of Odessa; son, Robert T. Wilkinson VI and Bonney (McHaney) with Carter, Jackson and Grady of Houston; daughter, Robin Holey and Johnny with Jesse, Braydon, and Ledger of Delhi, LA; son, Erik Wilkinson and Alisha (Shields) with Dalton and Mason of Odessa; several cousins including Mike Busselle of Beaumont and Edwin Casburn of San Antonio.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, December 29, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Dalton Wilkinson, Mason Wilkinson, Erik Wilkinson, Johnny Holey, Rob Wade, and Mike Aranda.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. O.T. Garza, Steve Ward, Dr. Steven Riley and Abel Zambrano.
