Calvin Allmond

Calvin Leonard C.L. Allmond, age 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 11, 2010. He was born on March 4, 1928 in Colorado City, Texas to Macon Houston Allmond and Bettie Myers Allmond. Calvin graduated from Colorado City High School where he played football. He moved to Odessa and worked in the oil fields for Gulf Oil and Chevron. He retired from Chevron after nearly 40 years of dedicated service in the Penwell and Sandhills offices. At the time of his retirement he was a Production Supervisor in the Sandhills office. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was an avid supporter of the University of Texas Longhorns.

Calvin is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Maxine Allmond. The two were married in Colorado City, Texas in August 1950. He is survived by his three children: Steve Allmond and his wife Ginger of Austin, Texas Debra Tomlinson and her husband Stuart of San Ramon, California and David Allmond and his wife Rose of Frisco, Texas. His pride and joy were his four grandchildren: Brian Allmond of Austin, Texas Scott Tomlinson who is currently serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and stationed in Hawaii Kristi Tomlinson of San Ramon, California and Lisa Allmond of Frisco, Texas. He is also survived by one sister, Maxine Gilliam of Odessa, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Macon and Bettie Allmond, sister Polly and granddaughter Sarah Allmond.

A private family gathering was held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be made to the American Lung Association, the American Diabetes Association, or the American Heart Association.
