Carl William Meise, Jr. died Saturday, November 17, 2018.
Carl was born March 14, 1934 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Carl, Sr. and Irma Meise. He married Rose Frymire on August 4, 1957. They moved to Odessa, TX where they settled and raised 3 boys: Kerry, Darrell and Adam. He was a devoted father, never missing a ball game, concert or anything else his boys were involved in.
Carl served in the U.S. Air Force being stationed at bases in New York, Alaska, Colorado and Texas.
Carl worked for several companies during his career, retiring from Cemex. He served as a Deacon and an Elder through the years at his church. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.
Carl loved to watch his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play all kinds of sports. He loved Permian football and his Steelers. He worked as a volunteer official of the West Texas Relays for over 50 years. He was a superior baseball coach, teaching his boys the game.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Rose to whom he was married almost 55 years.
He is survived by his three sons and their wives: Kerry and Donna, Darrell and Terri, Adam and Joanna (all of Odessa); 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 1 sister, Sue Ireno of Elwood City, PA; along with a large extended family.
Carl will be remembered for his fun-loving personality. He loved to make people laugh. His family takes great comfort in knowing he is now in God's hands.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
