Carl Douglas Buck Nix, age 71, of Van Horn, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 6, 2009.
Buck was born in Cisco, Texas to Carl L. and Clarabelle Nix on February 5, 1938. Buck was a man of many trades throughout his life. He and his wife Mary have owned Eagle Hardware in Van Horn, Texas for the last ten years, but his passion was ranching and being able to serve the community of Van Horn as Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 for six years.
A memorial service is planned for July 15, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Van Horn, Texas Pastor Rob Casey will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Lee Nix, Timothy Harris, James Reyenga, Brian Braswell, Darrell Oden, Terry Lee Brosh, Christopher Finch and Todd Ross Harris.
Buck is survived by the love of his life Mary Louise Nix, one son Randy Nix and wife Kimberly of Carrolton, Texas, three daughters Debbie Reyenga and husband Jim, of Odessa, Texas, Peggy Harris and husband Tim of Gardendale, Texas and Judy Braswell and husband Brian of San Angelo, Texas. Buck is also survived by two step-sons Michael Oden and wife Myra of Lubbock, Texas, Darrell Oden and wife Heather of Round Rock, Texas and one step daughter Misty Thompson and husband Eric of Lubbock, Texas. Buck had sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, son in law Steve Brosh, and grandson Chase Brosh.
