Carla Duree’s love of life did not come to an end with her death. Carla passed away on February 20, 2022, at the age of 71 enveloped by the love of her children who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Carla was born November 3, 1950, in Tulsa Oklahoma to Lewis Parks and Maxine Davenport. The family moved to West Texas in 1953. Carla graduated from Permian High School in 1969, she was a Permian High cheerleader.
Carla is survived by her father, Lewis Parks; daughter, Kim Marshall and husband Gary of Gardendale; sons, James Arnold and wife Mari of Albuquerque, NM, Jay Duree and wife Brandi, and Kyle Johnson of Odessa TX; 9 grandchildren, Brannon Jordan partner Amy, Lanie Marshall, Cassidy Fry, Harley Duree, Paige Johnson, Bobby Duree, Jonahs Arnold, John-John Johnson, and Austin Arnold; and great- grandchildren, Bella, Tommy, and due in May, Adaline Carla Jolie.
Carla is preceded in death by husband, Bob Duree; mother, Maxine Parks; and brother, Gary Parks.
Carla was always the life of the party, she was a hardheaded, head strong woman with a huge heart. Carla was of the mindset: you only live once; she did not care what others thought and lived her life the way she wanted. If you were in Carla’s circle, you knew that she loved you. Her family knew that she would give them the world if possible. She had a special connection with each grandchild. In Carla’s eyes and heart, her kids and grandkids could do no wrong.
Carla was a bowler, golfer, traveler, and she could not pass up a trip to Vegas or a shopping spree. This is all a minor part of the ornery, happy, fun loving person that Carla was. She will be missed is an understatement, but we will carry on as she would want us to; we will live life to the fullest, we will break out in dance in a parking lot without a care as to who is watching or what they think.
We will LIVE, LOVE and LAUGH!
