Carmen Michele Calloway Hinton, 46, of Odessa, TX passed away on July 11, 2017 in Odessa, TX.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Northside Baptist Church, 100 W. 50th Street, Odessa, TX.
Carmen was born in Kilgore, TX to "Jo Jo" Fears and Wesley Bill Calloway on November 4, 1970. She attended schools in Kilgore, TX and Odessa, TX. She graduated from Permian High School in Odessa, TX in 1989. She married James "Tido" Hammond in 1998. She worked as a Realtor for Trower Realtors and Mortgage Banker for Supreme Lending for 25 years. She was a member of the Odessa Board of Realtors for many years. She was Treasurer, Vice President, President, and Past President of the Odessa Board of Realtors various years. She was the secretary/treasurer for Tropical Townhomes. She was also a member of the American Legion.
Carmen is preceded in death by her father, Wesley Bill Calloway; her grandparents, Van Calloway, Dorothy Pettway Fears, Dillard Fears, and Johnny Nix; her great-grandparents, Bill and Pounce Calloway, Violet and Ross Smart, Rufus "Red" Beard and Ida Mae Beard, Irene and Roy Park, and Willie Pettway.
Carmen is survived by her husband, James "Tido" Hammond of Odessa; children, Hayden Hinton and Ashlynne Hammond of Odessa; parents, Carolyn "Jo Jo" Johnson and Mike Johnson of Odessa; brothers and sisters, Karen Calloway Maxwell of Longview, Lindsey and Jacob Chelette of Odessa, Branson Johnson of Odessa, Jennifer Tyrovolas of Cottonwood, CA, and Wesley Bill Calloway, Jr of Reno, NV; grandmother, Betty Beard Nix of Memphis, TN, and Faye Pettway of McKinney, TX; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to American Stroke Foundation in her honor.
