Carol Brandenburg

Funeral services for Carol Brandenburg, 62 of Odessa will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 26, 2009 at Sherwood Church of Christ with Lonnie Hamil officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3:00 5:00 PM Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be, Joe Burton, Clayton Dennis, John Swift, Hank Weldy, Danny Willey, and Doyle Williams.

Carols battle with cancer ended Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at her home, where she wanted to be. Carol was a wonderful person, wife, friend, parent and grandparent. Carol was born in Oklahoma City, OK on September 27, 1946 to Jimmy and Anita Graves of Perryton, Texas. She married Joe Ben Brandenburg in 1985. For many years she worked in television both in management and local and national sales. She was baptized into Christ at Sherwood Church of Christ in 2007. This was a very special time for Carol, because it gave her the strength and courage she needed to fight her battle with cancer. The family at Sherwood gave her so much love and support. She is preceded in death by her parents Jimmy and Anita Graves.

Survivors include her husband Joe Ben Brandenburg of Odessa, a son Ricky Gum and his wife Judy of Wisconsin; and daughter Shelley Rose of Odessa. Grandchildren; Zachary, Noah, Samantha, Christopher Chase, and Cheyenne.
The family would like to thank the wonderful people at Southwest Cancer Treatment and Research Center in Lubbock for their wonderful and aid in her battle. Also very special thanks to Cassandra, D. D., Teresa, Ruben, Emmett and Glen. There could be no more loving or caring people. A very special thank you to Sherwood Church of Christ for all the love, prayers, food and cards that they very faithfully gave to our Carol during the duration of her battle.
