Caroll Riley

Caroll Sue Riley, age 82 passed away Sunday June 23, 2013 at her residence in Odessa.

She was born March 25, 1931 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Carl George and Elva Gladys Anduss. As a young girl, the family moved to Crane County Texas where they lived in the heart of the Sandhills at the Phillips Petroleum Crane Water Station attending Crane schools. After moving to Goldsmith, she attended Odessa High School where she played clarinet in the band. On July 3rd, 1948 she married W. T. Dub Riley at the Goldsmith, Texas Methodist Church. She later attended Odessa College where she studied Medical Transcription and worked at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Her great joy in life was her husband of 65 years and their dog, Punkin, with whom she traveled the United States and Canada in their motor homes where she developed ideas for her fabulous paintings.

She is survived by W.T. and three children, Deana Caroll Riley of Midland, Bruce Alan Riley of Midland and Ronald Dale Riley and wife Charlotte Riley of Lubbock. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous others who regarded her as their second Mom.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Tyler Riley, Jordan Riley, Bill Wight, Ken Utzinger, Joe Hurt, and Steven Womochel. Honorary Pallbearers are Arthur Wight and Dan Womochel.
