Carolyn Hamilton

Carolyn Jean Wade Hamilton, age 73, entered into eternal peace with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 22, 2017 in Odessa after a lengthy illness.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Jean on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., a day following her birth date, at Disciples of Grace Church in Odessa located at 2323 Kermit Highway, with Pastor Robin Horne.

Jean attended school in Snyder and beauty college in Odessa. She was a hairdresser and floral designer in Odessa.

Jean is preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Rainwater and step father, R.C. Rainwater, Robert Lee; father, Johnny Wade, Carlsbad, NM; brother, Kenneth Wade, Ruidoso, NM; niece, Chelsea Maddux Laney; McKinney; nephews, Royce Wade, Carlsbad, NM; Craig Wade, Abilene, and great nephew, Ryan Wade, Fort Collins, Colo.

Survivors include her daughter, Deanne Hamilton, Odessa; son, Joie Hamilton and partner, Bob Thayer, Houston; sister, Patsy Rainwater-Maddux and brother-in-law Ron Maddux, McKinney; nephews, John Wade and his wife, Tracy, Ruidoso, NM; Gary Hamilton, Snyder; nieces, Robin Wade, Killeen; Becky Hamilton Carey and Dawn Davis, Snyder; Denise Hamilton, Dupont of California, great nephew, Eric Wade, Portland, Ore., great nephew and niece Logan and Catelyn Laney of McKinney, special friends, and fur babies Fifi and Sally Cat.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Home Hospice of Odessa, 516 N. Texas Ave, Odessa 79761, Humane Society of Odessa, 7012 W. Mockingbird, Odessa 79763, in honor of Jean's special pets throughout her life, or to a favorite charity.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at The Parks Senior Living in Odessa, Home Hospice of Odessa, and Dr. Anna Marie Francisco for the love and support during Jean's final months; Pastor Robin Horne, and special neighbor Leslie Wright.
