Carolyn Wilson

Carolyn Roberta (Reeder) Wilson, age 86 of Odessa, TX passed away December 2, 2022, from Congestive Heart Failure in Midland, TX.  She was an Episcopalian and was born into a Navy family on September 27, 1936, in Miami, FL.  Her Parents, Fleeta R. and Charles K. Reeder and Brother Patrick W. Reeder predeceased her.

Carolyn was a devoted pipeliner wife to James W. Wilson and leaves to cherish her memories, Daughter, DeAnn Wilson and Son, Chris F. Wilson, Odessa, TX, Sister Sharon R. Winchester, The Villages, FL, Granddaughter Keli Ann and Husband Dane Buendel and precious Great Granddaughter Lorelei Jane Buendel.

Growing up Carolyn traveled extensively being a Navy brat living in Miami, FL to Bryson City, NC, (where she loved to stay with her granny & grandaddy who gave her the title of Queen Bee, which she upheld till she passed away),  to Corpus Christi, TX to San Diego, CA, where she met James Wilson & they married in May 1956, eventually settling in Wink, TX where she owned and operated Carolyn's Coiffeur's.  During her career she was part owner of J.C. Creations with Melba Washburn then worked for many years as an accomplished hairstylist and nail technician in many salons in Odessa.

Those who knew Carolyn knew she loved to cook, teaching her sweet Granddaughter Keli girl how to make homemade tapioca, that her granny had taught her. She was always the hostess to everyone who came to visit her. She loved decorating, and dancing; she & Jim even won a dance contest but broke her wrist for the sake of the win.  She loved reading and keeping in touch with her lifelong friends. She also loved her dogs, Lacy, Nikki, & Pressly, so in place of flowers she wanted memorials given to the Humane Society of Odessa.

A Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will be held at a later date.
