Catherine was a great teacher to those around her. She had a tender, loving heart, gentle, giving spirit and most of all she was strong. She used that strength to fight for three and one half years a terrible disease that tried to slow her down. She never received any rest from her disease and she did put up a fight. She drew that strength to fight from the Lord and her faithful fellow members of Sherwood Church of Christ. Her relationship with the Lord is what sustained Catherine and her family for the entire journey and beyond.
B.D. and Catherine belonged to a local chapter of the Veteran Motor Car Club of America, The Permian Basin Oil Burners. This touring car club allowed Catherine the opportunity to experience our nation from coast to coast and develop friendships that she would not have otherwise had the opportunity to develop. She made many friends and holds each one in a special place in her heart.
Catherine and B.D. were business partners with Bill and Jane Hext for 16 years. Catherine walked side by side with B.D. helping to grow and sustain an important business in this community. Being involved with PEP, inc., she helped build a successful company and cultivated a loving relationship with all its past employees.
Catherine also delighted in her monthly meetings with her friends in the Progressive Study Club. She appreciated the club for enabling her to broaden her horizons.
Cooking was Catherines expression of love to those she cooked for. When you ate one of Catherines meals, you were receiving a hug and a kiss from her. She could cook a small intimate meal for two or she could feed an army in the blink of an eye, all done from her heart.
Catherine loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loves B.D. and all the sacrifices he made for her. She loves her family and friends. She will be greatly missed and greatly celebrated in the legacy she passes on.
