Cathy Dobbs

Cathy R. McFarland Dobbs, 66, of Midland, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at her home in Midland, Texas.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 6 PM-8 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 29, 2022, with Melissa Shuler of First Methodist Midland officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.

Cathy was born in Odessa, Texas to Leonard O. and Eretta McFarland on February 4, 1956. She attended schools in Odessa, Crane, and Gainesville, Texas. Cathy married Gary Randall “Randy” Dobbs on January 4, 1974, in Crane, Texas. Cathy worked for Continental Emsco in Monahans, Texas, for several years before she became a homemaker. In 1985, Cathy and Randy moved from Monahans to Midland with their children, Brandon and Amanda. Cathy enjoyed traveling to the lake and many parts of Texas and the U.S with her family. She also enjoyed trips to Italy and Mexico with friends and family. She volunteered for many school functions, and often served as a room mother, sports team sponsor, scout leader and many other activities her children were involved in. Over the years she had many dogs that she loved and adored. She loved the Dallas Cowboys, live music concerts and cooking for her friends and family. Cathy was a member of First Methodist Church in Midland, Texas.

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard O. and Eretta McFarland.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Dobbs of Midland; son, Brandon Dobbs and wife Lauren of Aledo, Texas; daughter, Amanda Salas and husband Bidal of Alvarado, Texas; grandchildren, Kaylee Salas, Hydee Salas, Haggen Salas, Levi Dobbs, and Braeden Dobbs; sisters, Debbie Cowden of Crane, Texas, and Vicki Hood of Monahans, Texas, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Shriners Hospital in Dallas or Interim Home Care and Hospice.
