Cecil was born December 1, 1938, to Arvin Hart and Lillian Dovie Montgomery-Hart near Big Spring, Texas, in a tent on a cotton field. He attended Big Spring public schools, and at age 14 he married the love of his life, Mary LaRue Ferguson. They were joined in marriage in the Church of God in Slaton, Texas, on November 22, 1953. The couple moved to Midland where he followed his love of working on vehicles and began busting truck tires. Later, the couple moved to Big Spring where Cecil worked in the road and bridge department for Howard County. In time, the couple made their way to Odessa where Cecil worked for Broncho Chevrolet and Sewell Ford. He then opened his own business, American Muffler Shop, and after selling it, he worked for Ector County ISD in the transportation department. He ended his career at Rexene, where he retired in 2001. He spent his retirement making new friends and building and working on old hot rod cars. At age 14, Cecil professed his faith in Jesus Christ and lived the rest of his life for Him. He was member and ordained as a deacon with the Church of God. He enjoyed attending church, singing and playing guitar, going to car shows, too many games of Rook, and secretly blessing people. He was a very social person who loved his friends and family very much. Although born in a tent on a cotton field, Cecil Henry Hart truly lived a long, rich life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arvin Hart and Lillian Dovie Montgomery-Hart; siblings, Clifford Arvin Hart, Travis Lee Hart, Myrtle Lanelle Hart-Parks, and Betty Fern Hart-Van Allen.
