Cecil Raley Jr., of Odessa, TX, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Odessa.
Graveside Services will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend James Channell officiating. Burial will follow.
Cecil was born on May 23, 1921 in Lincoln County, Oklahoma to Cecil Raley Sr. and Hepsibel Isabel Raley. He went to school in Varnum, Oklahoma. Cecil was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He served as a member of a bomber crew flying a B-17 for approx. 18 different missions before a crash landing just over the German border in Switzerland and was held as an internee. He married Anna Louise Evans on March 21, 1943 in Dallas, TX. Cecil worked as a pumper for Sum Oil Company for 38 years. Cecil also was actively involved in the Antique Car Club of Odessa.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Raley Sr. and Hepsibel Isabel Raley and his first wife Anna Raley.
Cecil is survived by his second wife, Jean Hart; daughter, Betty Genice Helton of Austin, TX; son, Robert Cecil Raley of Austin, TX; 4 grandchildren, Rusty Helton, Cassie Helton, Lee Raley and Laura Victori.
Cecil had a passionate love for Thirty Mile Campground near Creede, Colorado, vacationing there for 53 summers in a row.
