Cecil Roberts

Cecil Roberts, age 67, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in Odessa.

He was born April 10, 1945 in Summerfield, TX to the late Perry and Lila Belle McDonald Roberts. Cecil was raised and also graduated in Crosbyton. He attended Texas Tech for a short time and worked in Canadian and later worked for Hobbs Trailers in MidlandOdessa. In the 1970s he began a business with a friend, Terry Stennett, Winches Inc.. He semi retired in 2011 due to illness.

Cecil was known for his generosity to several charities. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, golfing, skiing and he participated in stock shows for his children.

Survivors include his wife, Linda, his daughters, Heather Simon and husband Dave and Kari Stewart and husband Tony all of Midland. He is also survived by his five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Dorothy Baize and Doris Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Augie Paredez, Sal Rodriguez, Dave Simon, Tony Stewart and Gunnar Roberts.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Graveside services, with Masonic Rites, will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
