Celeste Ann Gilliam entered into heaven Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, after a lengthy illness.
Celeste was a beloved daughter, mother and wife who gave of herself unselfishly to family and friends.
Celeste was born to Clyde Lietzow and Jimmie Nell Oehlschlager Oct. 17, 1957 in Odessa. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1976 and graduated Texas AM Commerce.
She married Vance M. Gilliam July 2, 1983, in Odessa and made her home here. She and Vance have one son, Kyle Gilliam of Odessa. Kyle was Celestes pride and joy and she was a loving and supportive mother full of kind words and praise.
Celeste was a rare gem of a person who was full of grace and love and faith. She touched many lives through her giving spirit and faith in the Lord. Her gentle demeanor will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She taught for a number of years at St. Johns Episcopal School where her gentle hand helped guide young students.
Celeste was predeceased by her father, Clyde Lietzow stepfather, Dr. F. Keith Oehlschlager brother, Matthew Oehlschlager grandparents, James Howard and Hazel Renelle Bowman.
She is survived by her husband, Vance son, Kyle mother Jimmie Nell Oehlschlager sisters, Colleen Oehlschlager and Cynthia Oehlschlager brother Bobby Oehlschlager uncle Dr. Ted R. Brannen and motherinlaw Pat Gilliam. Also numerous nephews and friends.
Services are scheduled at 1 pm Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Brother Dave Adkins of the Circle J Cowboy Church officiating.
Pallbearers include: Zac Dennis, Mason Cordle, Brad McKinley, Brent McKinley, Bret McKinley, Lance White.
