Charlene (Moore) Howell was born in Odessa on May 13, 1944. She was the second of four children born to J.L. "Pete" Moore and Nettie Moore. She was a lifelong resident of Odessa and a 1962 graduate of Permian High School. She was a member of CrossRoads Fellowship. In the early morning hours of May 1, 2018, Charlene entered into the mansion prepared for her, as promised, by Jesus, her Savior. Because of her faith and trust in Him, her reward is assured. She was at home surrounded and comforted by her family.
Charlene married Roy Glenn Howell on May 8, 1964 and for 52 years they loved each other completely, leaving an amazing legacy for their children and grandchildren. Together they spoiled grandchildren, gave life lessons, shared their hearts and left a wonderful example of what true love can accomplish. She loved any activity involving family and friends, seldom missing any activity that included grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and those she chose to "adopt". She loved them so honestly and completely that it was obvious to all of them that she was a very special lady.
When she entered eternity she was reunited with those who preceded her. Her husband Roy, her mom and dad Nettie and Pete Moore, and her brother Lanny.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Leah Mahan and husband Todd, their children Dane and Mason, her son Brad Howell and wife Staci, their children Allison and Ethan, sister Peggy Westfall, and brother Larry Moore, along with many nieces/nephews/friends and loved ones.
