Charles Beck

Charlie D. Beck, age 66, was called to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and many other loved ones on Friday, October 1, 2010, in Odessa, Texas.
Visitation will be Monday, October 4, 2010 from 6:008:00 P.M. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 2:00 P.M. at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bryan Trant, Pastor of Kingston Ave. Baptist Church officiating. Pallbearers
are Brice Edward Beck, Dillan DeWayne Beck, Taylor Doyle Beck, Troy Charles Beck, James Owens and Tommy Rawls.


He was born on April 22, 1944 to Charlie L and Edna Beck in Jacksboro, Texas.
He married Patsy Buford on August 6, 1962 in Kermit, Texas. She was his high
school sweetheart.

Charlie worked in the oilfields all of his life. He started as a roughneck for A.W.
Thompson, in Odessa, Texas. Charlie moved up the ranks to Drilling Superintendent with the Co. He worked one summer in Iraq. He also worked for MGF Drilling Co. as a drilling superintendent.

Charlie went to Odessa College and took Diesel Automotive training. He worked for a Freightliner of Odessa, as diesel Mechanic for six years. He retired and leased out to Hughes Oilfield Transportation as a hot shot driver until he suffered an oilfield accident in 2008. This accident ultimately caused cardiac complications, leading to his early passing.

Charlie was an honest, good hearted workaholic. He will be missed by his loving family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Beck of Odessa. Sons, Doyle Beck of Odessa, Charlie Beck, Jr. of Odessa, Grandsons, Brice Beck and wife Desiree, Dillan Beck, Taylor Beck and Troy Beck of Odessa. Granddaughter, Regan Beck of San Antonio, Texas, Great granddaughter, Kielee Beck, Great Grandsons,
Brayden Beck, and Gaven Dice. Motherinlaw Zela Ruth Rives, Sisters:
Pat Johnson and husband Perry, Margaret Jackson, Gail McCain and husband Butch, all of Chico, Texas, Sisterinlaw, Loretta Buford and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlie was preceded in death by his Mom and Dad, brother, Bobby and sister, Billie Manning, Brotherinlaws, Roland Vickrey, Rick and David Buford, sisterinlaw, Katie Vicrkrey.

The family request for contributions to be made to St. Judes.
