Charles Franklin Evans, 80, of Odessa, passed away on November 9, 2016 in Odessa.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, November 11, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 4:00 pm, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at University Park Fellowship church, on the corner of 87th and Golder in Odessa. Pastor Wayne Maass will be officiating.
Charlie was born on April 16, 1936 to William and Sallie Evans. He grew up with a gaggle of siblings and learned how to care for people. Charlie married the love of his life, Rita, on June 2, 1956 and stood by her side until death parted them. Charlie was a business owner in the dirt and paving industry for much of his life and was always a hard worker. Charlie never met a stranger and you couldn't take him anywhere without seeing somebody he knew. He was a warrior and battled through many obstacles that most people would shy away from.
Charlie was an avid sports fan and loved to talk about Rangers baseball and anything his grandchildren were involved in.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Rita, daughter, Tammy Crouch and her husband, Terry, a son, Kelly Evans, and his wife, Beverly, all of Odessa, daughter, Robbie Maass, and her husband, Wayne, of Monahans, 3 sisters Jean McClain, Nettie Lanham and her husband, James, and Ruth Evans, brothers Jesse Evans and his wife, Lois, and John Evans and his wife, Judy, 33 grand, great grand, and great great grandchildren, and countless nieces, nephews, and friends. He leaves quite a legacy of love and the family would like to thank everyone for the condolences and memories.
