Charles Harry Chuck Papa Kramer of Odessa passed away at his home on Monday, February 27, 2012. He was born in Blanco, Texas, December 20, 1937, to Rev. Louis and Lydia Kramer. He was baptized and confirmed by his father.

Charles loved God, his family, and his country. He served proudly in the United States Army from January 1958 to July 1967. He served in Korea, and during the Vietnam War he served in Okinawa, the Philippines, Thailand and Taiwan.

He lived his life as a whole to reach his destination with God, but he was known well as someone who lived daily in celebration of the journey, taking every long short cut he could from one stop to the next.

He was retired and enjoyed going to Mojo football games, gardening, and sitting in the shade with his bride. He liked being home with his computer, cat, squirrels, bird, and turtles.

His children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the light of his life, and he always looked forward to their visits and to taking them on his legendary road trips.

He was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, serving as longtime Stewardship Secretary and as reader.
