Charles Lane

Charles H. Lane, 76 of Odessa, passed away from a brief illness on January 6, 2015 in Cornith,Tx.

Visitation will be Friday, January 9th at Sunset Funeral Home between 6-8pm and Funeral Services will be 10am Saturday, January 10, 2015 Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.



Charles was born on May 17, 1938 in Cement, TX, to the late Charles W. and Joyce (McCurdy) Lane. He was raised in Anadarko until he and his family moved to Odessa, TX. Charles graduated from Odessa High School and attended Odessa College. He entered the US Army serving overseas in Germany. After he was discharged, he returned to Odessa and began working in the petroleum industry.

Charles married Darlene McKinley in 1963 in Odessa, a marriage that lasted 49 years. She preceded him death in 2012. Charles loved to fly and fish. He retired at 65 in 2003.

Charles is survived by 3 daughters: Penny Scott of Roanoke, TX, Patty Hunt of Odessa, and Kelly Sachse and husband Scott of Midland, 5 grandchildren: Kyle Scott ,Morgan Caudillo, Cydney Sachse, Justen Hunt and Taylor Sachse, 2 great grandchildren, Elijah and Nina Caudillo.
