Charlie Ryan

Charlie Van Rip Ryan, age 70, of Odessa, passed on to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born October 23, 1941 in Iraan, Texas to Cleddie Ryan and Mabel McMillian Ryan. He worked in the oilfield and made many friends there. He loved playing poker and liked to bowl and play golf. He was a member of the Moose International Lodge in Odessa and received Fellowship status. He was also a 32nd degree Mason as well as a Shriner.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ryan his children, William Ryan and wife Jerena, Francis Henry and husband David, Toshia Calvert and husband Bobby three stepchildren, Cindy Dill and companion Dean Amos, Ricky Watters, and Penny Fancki and husband Jeff 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, exwife, Shirley Ryan and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.C. and Mabel Ryan and granddaughter, Deidra Henry.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Friday, January 6, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with Jimmy Braswell officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be William Ryan, Hayden Ryan, Kacey Ryan, David Henry, Bobby Calvert, Stacey Jones, Blue Griffin, and Donny Russell.
