Charlotte Darlene Holley Smith
Charlotte Smith, 70, of The Colony, Texas, died peacefully at home on Sunday, April 14, 2019. Charlotte was born to Pat and Dee Holley on November 5, 1948. Charlotte grew up and attended school in Muleshoe, Texas graduating in 1967 and then moved to Pecos, Texas and later to Odessa, Texas for most of her adult life.
Charlotte had a love for the Lord, life, friends and all her family. She never met a stranger that did not become an instant friend or loved one. She had a zest for life and a spirit that made you laugh.
Charlotte met the love of her life, Buddy in late 1998 and they were married on January 9, 2000 in Little Rock, Arkansas. They moved back to Texas in January 2001. Charlotte was a Texas girl and wanted to be home. Charlotte and Buddy were members of Spring Creek Church of Christ in Plano, Texas.
Charlotte worked in the early 1990's at Compressor Systems, Inc then transferred to Ignition Systems & Controls, Inc for several years and later at Express Personnel in Odessa. She is a past member of American Business Women's Association and Desk and Derrick Club of Midland until 1999.
Charlotte is survived by Husband, Buddy Smith, The Colony, Texas; her mother Pat and Step-father Charles Robbins of Odessa; her son Jarrod Hanks of Odessa; Sister Ann and husband Rod Martin of Fort Worth; Sister Jan and husband Sim Davis of Houston; Brother Eddie Holley of San Antonio, Texas. Also survived by nieces, Shellie Parker and Laurie Wade and a nephew, Joshua Holley. Charlotte is preceded in death by her father Dee Holley in 1997.
Graveside Services will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 6801 E. Hwy 80, Odessa, on Friday, April 19, 2019, at 10:00 AM with Reverend Clyde Chapman.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.
