Born on April 5, 1925 in Bivins, Texas to Janie Meda White-Walker and H. Frank Walker, Chrystal was raised in Atlanta, Texas and was a graduate of Atlanta High School. Following graduation she attended Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana where she was a proud member of the College Capers Singing and Dance Troup which entertained enlisted soldiers in World War II.
Chrystal married James Phillip Fouche on May 18, 1947 in Atlanta, Texas. That same year Chrystal and Phillip moved to Hobbs, New Mexico. Chrystal was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Odessa, the Builder's Sunday School class and most recently the 8 O'clock Adult Sunday School class.
Chrystal was tremendously proud of her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joys. Meme never missed a game, recital, social event, or concert. In fact, her "bleacher charisma" became so well known that the Permian Basin Association of Sports Officials awarded her an honorary whistle and jersey.
