Cleta Mae Terry, 79, joined our Heavenly Father on February 21, 2009. She was born July 15, 1929 in Hominey, Oklahoma. In the early 1940s, she moved from Oklahoma to Odessa. She graduated from Odessa High School. She met her Soulmate Wayne Allen Terry, and they were married December 11, 1946.
Cleta was a Housewife and Mother, but briefly worked outside of the home. She worked for Wackers, Gibsons, and W.T. Grants where she met some of her dear friends. She was an enrolled tribal member of the Cherokee Nation. She was formerly a member of Temple Baptist for 25 years, and currently a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Cleta loved going to the lake and fishing. She also loved to cook, sew, knit, crochet, and work crossword puzzles. Her favorite time was being with family, and reading to and playing with her grandkids. She was a very devoted and loving mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Terry, parents Ezekiel Parris and Ruby Thomas Steele, stepfather Bernard Steele, and father and mother-in-law Radford and Willie Ila Terry.
Cleta is survived by her daughter Debbie Franklin and husband Howard of Odessa, sons Wayne Terry, Jr. and wife Mary of Belton, Jason Terry and wife Billie of Odessa, David Terry of Odessa, Mike Terry of San Angelo, and Ronnie Terry of San Angelo; grandchildren Pam Fliatz and husband Charley of Belton, Kim Terry of Austin, Austin Terry of San Angelo, Blake Terry of Odessa, and Logan Terry of Odessa; and a great-grandchild Morgan Terry of Belton.
