Cole Chandler

September 13, 1988 — January 3, 2025

Odessa

Cole Dustyn Chandler passed away on January 3, 2025, in Midland, TX at the young age of 36.

Cole was born on September 13, 1988, in Odessa, Tx to Kevin and Cyndi Chandler. At a young age, he was always jumping at the chance to hang out with his father and grandfather. Whether that was going hunting or fishing, the three were inseparable. Growing up, he was always finding the time to bond with family members like siblings and cousins.

Cole was gifted at many things, one being the ability to make you laugh at a second's notice. He was always acting goofy because he didn’t want anyone to take life too seriously. Cole attended Permian High School and graduated in 2007. During his time at Permian, he took on many interests including sports, such as baseball. He played catcher on the high school baseball team. Being one of the shortest players gave him the extra motivation to work harder than most to be successful on the field. He was one of the fastest players. His love for baseball continued after high school as he joined a softball league. Cole had many passions in life and many things he was good at, but he mostly enjoyed cooking up tasty dishes and playing video games.

All throughout Cole’s life, he had this amazing ability to make you feel safe and protected. He had a sweet caring heart and when he let you in you were very important to him. He loved hard and cared deeply for those in his life and he will be truly missed.

Cole is survived by daughter, Brynleigh Chandler; his sisters, Krysten Chandler, Kourtnye Slaughter and husband Dylan Slaughter; son, Witten Slaughter; grandmother, Mary Ann Chandler; aunt, Kelli Chandler Copeland; cousins, Tiffani and Tanner Shanks; daughters, Peyton, Jemma, and Blakely Shanks; cousin, Brody Welch; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; father, Kevin Chandler of Odessa; mother, Cyndi Chandler of Odessa, TX; paternal grandfather, Jimmy Chandler of Odessa, TX; maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Johnson of Hobbs, NM.

A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, January 18th, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Cole's life.
