Dana Beth Gray, of Jal, New Mexico passed away peacefully April 2, 2019 in Odessa, Texas.
Dana was born January 26,1943 in Hamlin, Texas and was the eldest of three children born to Douglas Junior "Buddy" Jenkins and the late Dorothy Mae Smith. The family moved to Jal in 1952, and Dana attended school there. On November 4, 1961 Dana had a daughter, Cynthia Angeline, (Cindy). Dana married Wilburn E. Gray on July 13, 1966.
Dana was an active member of the community of Jal for many years. She worked as a dispatcher for the City of Jal, and enjoyed her time serving the citizens of Jal, and working with the Police Department. She was also very involved with the First United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens center of Jal. She loved visiting with friends while eating at the Senior Center and spent lots of time playing different games and attending special events held there.
Dana cherished the time she was able to spend with her great granddaughter (Kaelyn), "K-Bug."
Dana is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Mae (Smith) Jenkins; her sister, Kathlene Maberry, and her daughter, Cindy Gray.
She is survived by her father, Buddy Jenkins; brother, Jerry Jenkins and family; grandchildren, Trey, Marc, and Denita Gray, Shane Glenn, and great granddaughter, Kaelyn Glenn.
Other surviving family members include nieces: Amy and Randy Crawford, sons Cooper and JT, Dina Madera and sons Colton and Lane, nephew Stephen Smith.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial celebration on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 11 am MST at the First United Methodist Church in Jal, New Mexico.
