Daniel Lloyd Brazeal, born August 20,1956, in the small town of Kilgore, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and a deep-rooted sense of family. At the time of his passing, Daniel was residing in Odessa, Texas, a place he called home for many years, surrounded by loved ones and cherished memories.
Growing up, Daniel journeyed through life with stops in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, gathering experiences and friendships that shaped him into the remarkable man he became. He graduated Broken Arrow High School in 1974, a proud milestone that marked the beginning of his adventurous adulthood.
In 1977, Texas called him back, where he was re-introduced and married the love of his life, Regenia Kitchens. Their love story began with a promise and led to a beautiful marriage that remained strong during their 47 years. Together they welcomed two daughters, Rena and Stacy, who followed their dad around relentlessly.
Daniel’s career path took a turn when a back injury in 1979 led him to leave the oil field. He then embarked on a new journey with Ector County, where his dedication and hard work saw him rise through the ranks to become the traffic department Super Intendant. After a fulfilling career, he retired in 2016, having made significant contributions to the community he loved.
Outside of work, Daniel was a man of many passions. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from casting a fishing line, to crafting and refurbishing wood into beautiful pieces. His hands were skilled in leather tooling, a craft he honed with patience and precision. But above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, where his kind and selfless nature shone brightest.
Daniel was a believing Christian, a faith that guided him through life’s challenges and triumphs. His belief in love and kindness was evident in every interaction, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Regenia; daughters, Rena Falcon and husband Gabriel, Stacy Jackson and husband Blake; grandchildren, Preslee, Daniel, Easton, and Nathaniel; his brother, James Brazeal and wife Brenda; nieces, Amy and Melissa; great nieces and nephews, and cousins. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Edward Brazeal and Velda Faye Andrews.
To honor Daniel’s life and legacy, a service will be held in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at 4:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the man who touched so many lives with his humor, warmth, generosity, and unyielding love.
Though Daniel’s journey on this earth has ended, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he cherished. His story is a testament to a life well-lived, filled with love, dedication, and the bonds of family that will never fade.
