Daniel Layh

July 10, 1977 — May 17, 2013

Daniel Clint Layh of Boulder, CO, went to be with his Savior on May 18, 2013, at the age of 35. He was born on July 10, 1977, in Hobbs, New Mexico, the son of Mike and Mary Layh.

Danny was at home and happiest when he was on a fourwheeler or in a stream or lake with his flyfishing gear. He loved his nephews and niece, and the biggest smiles were on his face when he was with them. Although he acted like he did not want his brothers to give him a big hug, we all knew full well he loved the contact more than he ever let anyone see.

Danny was an absolute master mechanic. There was not a thing he could not repair on a car. One of his greatest pleasures was his 65 Mustang. He and his Dad spent many a backbreaking afternoon rebuilding and restoring that car. It was the pride of Odessa, and we can all guarantee there was not a prettier one around for miles and miles.

Although he never officially called it home, Red River, New Mexico had a special place in Dannys heart. Whether it was fishing at Goose Lake or wrecking Uncle Ricks fourwheelers at the campground, some of ours and Dannys happiest memories were spent in those New Mexico Mountains.

Danny was a National Champion Gymnast on Odessa Permians 1994 and 1995 mens gymnastics teams where he specialized on the Rings. The friendships and relationships from those teams remained special to Danny throughout his life.

Danny lived in Odessa for most of his youth, graduating from Permian in 1996. He then moved to San Antonio where he opened a very successful smoothie shop, Fruit of the Isle, in the Ingram Park Mall. Danny has lived in Colorado, near Denver, for the last six years where he was worked as a Parts Manager for Worldwide Machinery.

Danny will be sadly missed by his loving parents Mike and Mary Layh, his brothers Jason Layh and Scott Layh, his sisterinlaws Christina Layh and Jennifer Layh, and his niece and nephews Callison, Jonah, Grayson, and Reagan Layh. He had an absolute heart of gold and would have done anything for his family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 6801 East Business 20, in Odessa Texas, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be Friday morning, May 24, 2013, at 10:00, at Redemption Church, 2409 Walnut Ave., Odessa, TX.
