Danny Max Reynolds, 55, of Austin, Texas passed away January 4, 2009 following a hospital stay in UTMB Brackenridge Hospital in Austin.
He was born December 16, 1953, in Snyder, Texas to Clyde and Mary Reynolds. He graduated from Snyder High School, Class of 1972 and two years later received an Associates Degree from Western Texas College in Snyder. He then went on to the University of Texas. While at the University, he worked in the Computer Center and found his true passion, computers. He was studying chemistry and then began taking computer classes. In 1976, he graduated with degrees in both Chemistry and Computer Science. He then went to work full time for the University of Texas in the Computer Center where he excelled. While there, he was sent to Minnesota to the Cray Company for two weeks to learn to program and trouble shoot the Universitys super computer. He became an authority on super computing and was much sought after for his expertise. He enjoyed computer gaming and his home became a hub for friends who shared his passion. He was generous in caring for those friends and helped many of them during low times in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and Clyde Reynolds. He is survived by his two sisters, Connie Parrott and her husband, Al Parrott and Debbie Willson and her husband, Jon Willson and nieces, Sarah Cox, Jennifer Jones, JLynne Willson, Kara Ezell, and nephews Chris Parrott and Brian Jones.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM, Friday, January 9, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa. A service is planned for 1:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens and he will be buried near his mother.
In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center in Houston, Texas in his name. He was a great supporter of their work.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
