Daphne Moore

August 23, 1930 — December 20, 2012

Daphne Rhea Moore, of Odessa, went to be with the Lord December 20, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Brother Bob Bratcher officiating. Arrangements are by Sunset Funeral Home.

Daphne was born in Cooper, Texas, to Hermie and Rufus Harvey on August 23, 1930. She grew up in Greenville, Texas, and lived most of her adult life in Odessa. In 1966 she met and married Bill Moore, the love of her life and her best friend. Besides being a dedicated wife to Bill, she was a dedicated Mother, Grandmother, and GreatGrandmother. She loved her two little girls, Diana and Toni, who were her number one priority, and she cherished her grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews who all loved to visit with her. They knew how much she loved them plus at Moms house they got to do anything they wanted to do, and in her eyes they could do no wrong. Daphne loved people and so she chose a career of working in retail sales where she made many lifelong friends. Everyone who knew her loved her and she seldom ever met a stranger. No matter what the circumstances were, she could always make you laugh. She was a caring, generous person, not only with her money, but with her time and would always be there for you in time of need. She will surely be missed and this world will not be the same without Mom.

Daphne is preceded in going to be with the Lord by her parents, Hermie and Rufus Harvey a daughter Diana Holliday a son Mark Moore a sister, Mildred McKinney and brothers Truman Harvey and Rufus D. Harvey.

She is survived by her husband Bill Moore daughter Toni Vanderburg and husband, Glynn son Mike Moore and wife Mikki sister Lillian Phillips and husband, Doyce sisterinlaw Jane Bynum and husband Bill grandchildren, Leesa Kovarna and husband Shannin, Amy Nichols and husband Paul, Summer Henderson and husband Don, Nikki Newberry and husband Brandon, Marshal Moore, Melissa Moore, Billie Moore, Tiffany Moore, and Royce Holliday and greatgrandchildren Shaley, Hannah, Tyler, Paul, Macey, Chase, Chelsea, Elijah, Noah, Trapper, and Gus.
