Darrel Mccoy was born on Friday, April 26, 1940. He passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 10:35 AM. Due to cancer complications. He passed peacefully with his daughter and son at his side, wife of 61 years, Bobbie McCoy, and a house full of family.
He was an amazing hard-working, loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He moved to Odessa, Texas in 1965 to build a family and work hard in Oldfield. He could always be found at the coffee shop in his black cowboy hat with black coffee and a cigarette. You could not find a better, more experienced heavy equipment operator in Texas. He put blood, sweat and tears into building his family a home which still holds every memory of him today. He gave love so naturally just a look in his eyes would show you his entire heart. He was never afraid to say I love you or wrap his arms around you. He was the very best! There will never be another man that could equal out to him.
Darrel is loved dearly and missed by his wife, Bobbie McCoy; sister, Delila Wilmore; sister-in-law, Kay McCoy; son, Travis McCoy and wife Tracie McCoy; grandchildren, Blake, Jordan, and Brinley McCoy; daughter, Jeannie Roger McCoy and husband Mike Roger-Mccoy; grandchildren, Chance and Dakota Stermer and Ashtyn McCoy.
