Darren Lee States

Darren Lee States, 64, of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in Odessa, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home with Pastor Lyndel Lee of Tanglewood Baptist Church, Odessa and Bro. Russell White of Victory Baptist Church, Stephenville, officiating. Arrangements made by Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Darren was born in Enid, Oklahoma to Alvia “Bill” William and Carolyn (Bittle) States on July 5, 1960. He went to school at Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas. He married Rhonda White on May 14, 2005 in Alpine, Texas. He worked in the oilfield as a Supervisor and Consultant for over 40 years. 

Darren is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda; his daughter, Jamie Jones; his sons, Beau States (Maryana) & William States; and grandson, Jaylon Jones; his sister, Debra Halseth (Steve); his brother, Danny States; brother-in-law, Russell (Lora) White; his nieces & nephews, Lindsay (Joshua) Elliott, Kyle Halseth, Elizabeth (Michael) Hoots, Logan (Jennifer) White; great nieces & nephews, Hunter, Hudson and Allie Jo Hoots, Abby Jane, Cari Grace and Barrett White, Theo Halseth; and mother-in-law, Marie White.

Darren is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Carolyn States; late wife, Sabina; his daughter, Jori Bragg; and his father-in-law, Larry White.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Danny States, Steve Halseth, J.W. Smith, Michael Hoots, Logan White, and Kyle Halseth.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Tanglewood Baptist Church in Darren’s name; 3737 Tanglewood Lane, Odessa, TX 79762.
