Darryl Wayne Hammonds

Darryl Wayne Hammonds, 59, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on January 22, 2025, in Odessa, Texas.

Visitation will be January 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 27, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. A burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Wayne was born in Hugo, Oklahoma to Leroy Bud and Clora Lou Hammonds, on August 12, 1965. He moved to Andrews, Texas in 1971, where he started Kindergarten. He then moved to Arkansas in 1973 and back to Andrews in 1977, where he graduated from Andrews High School in 1983. He started working at Permian General Hospital in 1983; He then retired on June 23, 2017, after 35 years. Wayne met Ron Hill on August 12, 1996, and later married on September 15, 2001, and renewed their vows on September 15, 2015; They moved to Odessa in 2008 together 

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy (Bud) Hammonds and Clora Lou Hammonds.

Wayne is survived by his 3 sisters, Rhonda and husband George Lopez, Darla and husband Richard Ohta, Tammy and husband Mike Asherbranner; and brother, Carl Hammonds; 7 nieces; and 4 nephews.

Pallbearers will be George Lopez, Corey Lopez, Cayden Glasgow, Troy Glasgow, Micheal Ashabranner, Addison Sanchez.
