David Leo Gray, age 76, of Odessa, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 in Odessa, Texas.
He was born July 15, 1934 in Carmi, Illinois to Lawrence Leo Gray and Mary Helen Hargrave Gray. After high school, he entered the U.S. Navy and served in Korea. Upon his discharge, he attended college at Southern Illinois University. He married Delores Faye Gillenwater and they moved to West Texas. Mr. Gray started his career in Petroleum, as a quality control inspector. He retired in 1998. He enjoyed wood working and Permian football. He collected belt buckles and attended Immanuel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Faye Dee Gray of Odessa his son, Michael Gray of Portland, Oregon his daughter, Cindy Lowe and husband Paul and their children, Phillip Kyle Lowe and Taylor Brianne Lowe of Mansfield, Texas his brother, Jack Gray and wife Glenda of Denver City his sister, Janice Parks and husband Floyd of Newburg, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 Noon Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Troy Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
