David T. Lieb

David T. Lieb, 79, of Odessa, Texas, went home to his heavenly Father on April 23, 2013.
David was born October 4, 1933, to Augustus T. Chady and Carolyn J. Cottie Lieb at The Infirmary in McComb, Mississippi. His early life was spent in Fernwood, Mississippi, attending school there and at St. Mary of the Pines in Chatawa, Mississippi. After graduation from high school, he enlisted in the Navy where, from 1953 to 1955, he was radio operator on the U.S.S. Adirondack and the U.S.S. Taconic, later serving in the Naval Reserve. He graduated from Bowling Green College of Commerce in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where he was a member of the Toppers Fraternity. He was employed by First Federal Savings Loan of McComb, later moving to Houston, Texas, where, except for a brief stint with Pacific Architects Engineers in Viet Nam, he worked until retirement as an accountant for Houston Lighting Power. His retirement years were spent living in Odessa, where he made many friends. Known as Odessa Dave, he was a regular caller to KWEL Radios Morning Show.
Memorial services with Military Honors, with VFW Post 4372 will be held in Odessa at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2013, at Sunset Gardens Memorial Funeral Home. Don Norris will officiate. A memorial service will be held at a later date in McComb, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustus and Carolyn Lieb, his sister, Ida Nora Phipps, and a grandson, Alexander T. Lieb.
He is survived by his children, Carolyn L. Roberts of Odessa Mark D. Lieb and wife, Deborah, of Odessa Michael F. Lieb and wife, Daina, of Spring,Texas four grandchildren, one greatgrandchild, one niece, one nephew, and numerous cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities.
