David Michael Morton, 64 of Odessa Texas passed away May 13, 2013. He was born October 23, 1948 in Oakdale, CA to Letha and J.E. Morton. David
graduated from Odessa High School in 1967. David married Elisa Meade in San Antonio, TX, on June 22, 1971.
David is survived by his former wife Elisa Meade Morton of San Antonio, TX, and two daughters Natasha MortonCarmichael and Vanessa Morton of San Antonio, TX, brothers James A. Morton and wife Jouree of Cibolo, TX and Richard L. Morton and wife Gloria of Odessa, TX,. Sister and brotherinlaw Elsie Long and husband Bob, brothers and sistersinlaw Anthony and Veronica Meade, Albert and Laurie Meade and Henry and Mary Meade, all of San Antonio, TX. David is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
David served in the United States Air Force for eighteen years. He served tours of duty in Germany, Turkey and at Edwards Air Force Base California. He worked for several companies here in the Permian Basin before retiring and spending time running a booth at one of the local Flee Markets and donating his mechanical skills to any and all who required them. He volunteered his time at the AmVets here in Odessa with friends who had served in the military.
David had a great love for all animals and loved to sit and tell stories about his tours of duty and where those tours were. Also about the jobs he had in the military. David would rather be outside then any place else on earth.
The family will have a memorial service at the AmVets 300 East VFW Lane, Odessa, Texas on Sunday May 19, 2013 at 3:30 PM. All friends are encouraged to come and spend time together remembering David.
A burial service will be held at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX on May 30, 2013 at 9:00 AM.
