Dawn Carrell

Dawn Carrell, 78, of Odessa, Texas passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17th, 2013, in Odessa.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1st at Sunset Memorial with Reverend Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Dawn was born on January 26, 1935 in Ringling, Oklahoma to Omar E. and Nell Mae Baucom, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Ashley, Lee, Leslie, O.E., and Leonard her sisters, Sybil and Jessie and her infant daughter Jana. Dawn married the love of her life, Floyd Bennet Carrell, in 1954 and began her precious family life. Together they enjoyed 59 years of love and marriage before Floyd passed in March of this year.

She enjoyed playing golf, going to Vegas, and spending time with her family. Dawn loved to make people laugh with her wit and friendly sarcasm, and she had a joy for life that will be deeply missed by her surviving family members, which includes her children Leslie Boggs and husband Jimmy, and Steve Carrell her brothers Cecil Baucom, Earl Bauscom and wife Myrna, and Charles Baucom her sister Jo Williams her grandchildren Michele Barrow and husband Brandon, Jason Boggs and wife Dusti, and Ashley Cox and husband Jefferson her greatgrandchildren Faith and Haden Barrow, and Noah and Charlotte Cox.

Memorials may be given to the Hospice House Foundation, 903 N Sam Houston, Odessa, TX and to Texas PTA, 7600 Chevy Chase Dr, Bldg 2, Suite 300, Austin, TX 78752.

The family of Dawn Carrell wish to extend our sincere thanks to Home Hospice and all of the Hospice personnel to Buena Vista personnel and to our family and friends who made this journey a special one.
