Delores Goodson

Delores Jean Goodson, 83, went home to be with her Lord on April 23, 2013, while staying at the home of her son Johnny Goodson.

Delores Jean was born 12131929, in Dalhart TX to Handley Howard and Nina Irene Smith Chesnut. She was the oldest of 3 girls and grew up in Graham, TX. She met her husband, Bryan Moody Goodson, while in high school and they were married on 08161947. They were blessed with 3 sons and 1 daughter, during their time in Graham and in 1963, moved to Odessa, TX, when Moody began working for Getty Oil Company.

Jean was not only a housewife but she also worked for ECISD as a food service worker for 9 years and she helped take care of her nieces and nephews, as they grew up. She was loved by many and always loved to talk to anyone who would listen, along with being a faithful member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church, until her health did not allow her to attend. She loved all of her family members and will be missed by all.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, spouse Moody Goodson, sons Stan and Keith Goodson and her sister Ruth.

Those left behind to cherish and honor her memory are her sister Sue Hendrick of Longview, TX son, Johnny Goodson and wife Cheryl daughter Candy Brymer and husband Elic Brymer Jr., both of Odessa 5 grandchildren: Bryan Andrew Goodson, of Austin Christopher Michael Porter Katherine Ovalle and spouse Jonathan Ashley Brymer Frennier and spouse David and Elic Matthew Brymer Jr., and 3 great grandchildren all residents of Odessa TX.

The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to Star Hospice of Odessa along with Dr. Le for all of their loving care given to Jean the last 2 months of her life. , Cy They would like to also extend special thanks to Paula Munoz, Cynthia Patterson, and Sylvia Hedke for always giving her the love and care needed to help her through the last 2 months of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Alzheimers foundation or to Chapel Hill Baptist Church.

There will be a family visitation on, Thursday, April 25, 2013 between 57 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with funeral services on Friday April 26, 2013 at 10 am at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
