Dennis Earl Haney

Dennis Earl Haney of Odessa, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025. He was born February 23, 1955, in Odessa, Texas to Earl Charles Haney and Wanda Faye Thiebaud. Dennis graduated in 1973 from Permian High School. He worked over 45 years for Mark Payne Homes, retiring in 2022. He married his wife Linda on February 14, 1993, a love so rare and true.

Dennis was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, and his brother Elton Charles Haney.

Dennis is survived by his wife Linda; his son, Rocky Haney (Sonia]; daughters, Michelle Haney (Diego], Kristina Nicolas (Elbis), Melissa Looney (Kendra); 6 grandchildren, Joshua Looney (Leah), Bailey Haney, Nicholas Silva (Camila), Michael Haney, Bishop Looney, and Stevie Ryann Looney; and two great grandchildren, Everett Looney and Malibu Silva; sister, Judith Tice; former daughter-in-law, Amanda Paradeaux; adopted mom, Jane Stevenson; aunts and uncle; and numerous cousins, (favorite cousin Renee); lifelong friends Mark Payne, Robert Clinton and Richard Cooper, and countless friends.

Dennis accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in his early 30’s and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. He dearly loved his family and found his greatest joy in his grandchildren. He was a loving, caring, generous and tender-hearted man. Dennis enjoyed TV westerns and crime shows. He enjoyed reading and kept his mind sharp by playing Sudoku, working crossword puzzles and word Jumble.

Visitation will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. 

Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Odessa on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Byron McWilliams. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
