Dennis Lee Kull, 65, of Odessa, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, in the care of hospice in Midland after a short but intense battle with cancer.
Dennis was born October 27, 1946 in Mattoon, Illinois to Floyd Kull and Maurine Reel Kull. He graduated from Mattoon High School. He married Ailsa Macdonald on February 20, 1974 in Windlesham, England. He established and ran Superior Engine Repair Company for 34 years and worked as a mechanic on industrial engines and compressors and, more recently, as a field production tech with most of his time spent in the oilfields around McCamey, Texas. He was an MP in the US Army and served for 2 years in Germany. Dennis loved to work with his hands, and there were very few projects dealing with the house or cars that he wouldnt attempt to accomplish himself.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Floyd, and brotherinlaw, Godfrey Macdonald.
Dennis is survived by his mother Maurine Kull of Neoga, Illinois his wife of 38 years, Ailsa Kull of Odessa, Texas daughter Virginia Compton, soninlaw Lane, and granddaughter Alisa of Plano, Texas and son James Kull of Plano, Texas.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gregg Wilcox officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family invites all in attendance to stay for visitation and light refreshments at the funeral home immediately following the burial.
