Dewey Goodman, Jr.

Dewey S. Goodman, Jr. age 52, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 in Odessa. He lost his battle with cancer to be welcomed into the life of everlasting peace.

Dewey was born October 6, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas to Dewey Samuel Goodman, Sr. and Rajean Loveland. He grew up in Odessa and married his best friend Connie Lanita Parr on October 3, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Goodman was an Instrument Technician in the Oilfield, working for National Oilwell Varco.

He was a good son, brother, husband, father and friend. Dewey will always be remembered for his sense of humor and witty jokes. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, Texas Hold em and football. A trip to Vegas with family and friends was always a joy for him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robin Goodman.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Goodman of Odessa his children, Jessica Johnson of Odessa and Lanita Hudson of Plano, Texas his sister, Sissy Tenaglia of Rockfalls, Illinois and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be from 68 PM Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, September 10, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, with Wally Schiwart officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardnes.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to hospice House of Odessa, 903 N. Sam Houston, Odessa, Texas 79761.
