Dewey Dane Lindly, age 83 of Lubbock passed away on September 19, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas with Alfred Vardeman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be following the burial.
Dewey Lindly was born in Wellman, Texas to George and Sophia Lindly on December 8, 1934. He went to school in Brownfield, Texas. He married Doris Ruth Roddy on December 11, 1955 in Aspermont, Texas. He worked as an oilfield production superintendent for O.H. Berry for forty-five years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Dewey Lindly is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Doris Lindly. His two daughters: Dana Christian and husband Terry Christian and daughter Lana Vardeman and husband Alfred Vardeman. Three grandchildren Amber Freeman, April Oglesby and husband John Olgesby, and Summer Vardeman. He also is survived by five great-grandchildren, Luke Freeman, Baylee Freeman, Jaydyn Oglesby, Rylee Freeman, and Haydyn Oglesby. One brother, Barney Lindly, his wife Mary Lou Lindly and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dewey is preceded in death by his parents, George and Sophia Lindly, three brothers Herman, Don, and M.L. Blevins, and sister Mildred Smith.
Pallbearers will be Terry Christian, Alfred Vardeman, John Oglesby, Luke Freeman, Gregg Lindly, and Cody Carroll.
