Dolores C. Alvarado went to be with her Savior on June 12, 2011. She died at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Odessa on October 2, 1949. She married Fernando Alvarado on May 20, 1972. They were blessed with four children. The oldest was Fernando C. Alvarado who preceded her in death on April 21, 1977 son, Frank C. Alvarado and wife, Selena L. Alvarado with grandson Frankie Airious Alvarado daughter Mercedes A. Ceballos, with three grandchildren, Alexavier, Arissa and Ajai of Odessa youngest daughter, Marissa A. Walker and husband Cedric Walker, grandchildren, Nate and Saydi of Dallas, Texas.
She is survived by five brothers and four sisters Ana C. Nunez and husband Julio, Mike T. Campos and deceased wife Esperanza, Hortensia C. Llanez and husband Thomas, Clotilde C. Cerde and deceased husband Ramon, Eduviges C. Rodriguez and husband Robert, Arturo T. Campos and wife Sylvia, Tomas T. Campos and wife Lauren, Blas T. Campos and wife Carmen, all of Odessa, Abel T. Campos and wife Karen of Wausau, Wisconsin.
She was a CCD teacher and helper a parttime secretary at St. Josephs for Father Gully and Waldron traveled with the International Group known as Up With People Cast A C worked at Continental Trailways Bus Station, entered the Convent at St. Marys in San Angelo but didnt have the calling secretary at St. Marys School in San Angelo, volunteered 7 years for E.C.I.S.D., named volunteer of the year for E.C.I.S.D. in 1988, worked and retired from ECISD after 13 years, was a life time PTA member for ECISD, Eucharistic minister at St. Josephs, Sept.16,1967 queen of St. Josephs Holy Name she was also a cursillista de Colores.
A special thanks goes to Dr. Casanova and staff, Dr. George and staff at WTCC, Home Hospice and staff, Dr. Kazar and staff, Mrs. Ulate and Mrs. Galindo for bringing the body of Jesus to her bedside all those who sent cards, flowers, foods, prayers, came to visit, memories shared, kind words and gestures.
A rosary will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday June 16, 2011 at St. Josephs Church, 907 S. Dixie, with Father Joseph Uecker officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, Ector County.
