Don Lindley

Donald Lindley entered the gates of Heaven on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the age of 79. Services will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home in Odessa, TX with the Rev. David Newton officiating.

Don was born on May 9, 1938 in Winters, Texas to Ben Lindley and Vera Crenshaw Lindley. He was married to Betty Lindley for over 51 years. Don was blessed with six wonderful children.

Don was a real estate broker for over 52 years, owning his own real estate brokerage Lindley & Company REALTORS. He enjoyed writing songs and was an avid auto racing fan. He also liked to fish. His greatest achievement in life was his wonderful wife and family. He had an unwavering faith in God, receiving Christ as his Savior in August 1970. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Don is preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Dawn Lindley in 1970, daughter Sarah Elizabeth Lindley in 1991, son Cary Don Lindley in 1996, parents Ben and Vera Lindley and sister Bonnie Shores.

Don is survived by his wife, Betty Lindley, son Tom Ben Lindley, son Morgan Lindley, daughter Christie Givens, sister Nancy Hobbs, grandchildren Grant and Alaina Givens and a great granddaughter Addison. He is also survived by sister-in-law Pat Clark and husband Rex Clark, niece Connie and husband Pat Coots. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to Texas Children Hospital in Houston, TX and St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.
