Don Carroll Miller

Don Carroll Miller, 85, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024, in Odessa, TX.

Don C. Miller was born in Chillicothe, Texas to Joe and Sally Miller on October 1, 1938. He attended school in Odessa, TX. Don married de’Anne Hall on August 15, 1998, in Odessa. He was the owner of    D&R Engine Service in Odessa for 57 years. Don was involved in Fast Pitch Softball for many years. He sponsored and coached two national championship teams in 1994 and 1996 and received the State Commissioners Gold Medal Award in 1998, for 30 years of outstanding contributions to the Texas Amateur Softball Association as a player and sponsor. 

Don Miller is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Sally Miller; late wife, Kaylene Miller; brothers, Paul, Joe, and Pete; sisters, Lometa, Dorothy, Juanell, Doris and Martha (Sue); son-in-law, Greg Ashley of Odessa.

Don is survived by his wife, de’Anne Hall Miller of Odessa, Tx; daughters, Lisa Moring and husband Cary Moring of San Angelo, Tx, Marla Brown and husband Robby Brown of Odessa, Tx; son, Paul Miller of Odessa, Tx; nephew, Billy Paul Miller and wife Sharon of Arlington, Tx; grandchildren, Trace Moring and wife Lacey of San Angelo, Tx, Cal Moring and wife Joan of Midland, Tx, Jason Miller and wife Kayla of Andrews, Tx, Jared Miller and wife Megan of Odessa, Tx, Jamye Coffman and husband Grant of Decatur, Tx. He is also survived by 10 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers will be Trace Moring, Cal Moring, Jason Miller, Jared Miller and Grant Coffman. 

Memorials may be given to Home Hospice, or the charity of your choice. The family of Don wishes to extend our sincere thanks to long time friends, Joe and Marsha Cook, Billy Bowden, Gene and Nancy Plunk, Bobby Williams and Chris Tschauner. 

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 26, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Jesse Gore officiating. A burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Tx.
