Donald Edward Godlevski passed from this life on Thursday, December 14, 2017.
He was born November 9, 1930 to William Albert Godlevski and Lillie Mae Casner Godlevski in Lewistown Penna. He graduated from Derry twp High School in Yeagertown in 1949.
He was employed by Joe Katz Menswear, Rocco Family Supermarket and Lewistown Hospital Business Office. After 2 years in the United States Army, he attended Manchester College
in North Manchester, Indiana, where he met and married Connie Lee Smith. They were married 53 years until her death in 2010. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from
Manchester College, and a Master of Music Degree from the University of Notre Dame. In 1962 they moved to Midland, TX, where he became the organist and choir director at
Midland Lutheran Church and teacher in the Day School. Moving to Odessa in 1969, he taught at Monahans Hudler Jr High School and finally 20 years in ECISD. Don was a musician,
violin, viola and organ major. He played at Asbury Methodist, St. Paul's Presbyterian, Cumberland Presbyterian, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Barnabas Episcopal, Holy Trinity Episcopal
Midland and St. John's Episcopal School and Church. He was a member of the Manchester Civic Symphony, the Ft. Wayne Philharmonic and 25 years in the Midland-Odessa Symphony.
In 1999 Don became an Associate of the Sisters of St. Mary in Sewanee, TN and was later received as a Life Oblate under Benedictine rule of life, an associate with the Sisters for 18 years.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Alton Godlevski.
He is survived by one daughter, Amelia Marie Godlevski, her daughter, Brianne Kaylee Godlevski, grandchild, Aribella Amelia Salazar and one son, Anthony Earl Godlevski.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, December 22, 2017 as his cremains will be placed next to his wife in the columbarium at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Midland, TX.
Don's favorite charities are, St. Mary's Convent, Cook Children's Medical Center, Ft. Worth, TX, Hope House, Odessa, TX and the Food Pantry at St. John's Episcopal Church.
