Donald John Holliday, An Innovator, passed away June 7, 2009. His knowledge and devotion to his work earned him the respect, honor, and trust throughout the industry as an expert tank builderboilermaker. He traveled all over the world and say the most beautiful places in the United States. He was a man of great integrity, dignity, gentleness, honor, kindness, and love.
He was born September 25, 1934 in Crane, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Marshall Holliday, A loving nurturing mother, Nina Gunn, and son, Donald Royce Holliday.
He is survived by the love of his life, Billye McClane; a devoted wife Delores Dee Holliday, Blessed to have loved and been loved. Sons, Darrell Holliday and wife Patricia Trish Holliday of Crandall, Texas, John Kevin Holliday of Burleson, Texas; daughters, Patty Hill and husband Oscar of Whitney, Texas, Margie Kamarae of Combine, Texas; best friend and brother, Marshall Holliday and wife Billie of Odessa, Texas; adored sisters, Vida Denton of Odessa, Texas, Katherine Borcherding, a devoted, loving caregiver throughout his illness, of Lorena, Texas; Linda Stoker and husband John of Moody, Texas; stepdaughter, Jana Driver of League City, Texas; grandchildren, Randi, Maxx, Jason, Marcus, Cameron, Darrell, Brandi, Tiffany, and Royce, and four great-grandchildren; beloved and caring friends, Danny Bell, Gerald and Patricia Parker, and Daisy Buster.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with David Pool officiating.
